Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to commonly asked questions about our products and services.
What are the main differences between the Socket Version (EVM007S) and the Cable Version (EVM007C)?
The Socket Version (EVM007S) features a Type 2 Socket, allowing drivers to use their own cables—ideal for public areas to prevent cable wear or vandalism. The Cable Version (EVM007C) comes with a fixed 5-meter Type 2 cable, providing a more convenient “plug-and-go” experience for users in dedicated workplaces or retail parking lots.
Can this unit be installed in a standard office building with only a single-phase power supply?
Yes. While the EVM007 floor-mounted AC EV charger supports 3-phase 22kW output for maximum speed, it is also fully compatible with single-phase systems, providing a 7.4kW output per port. This flexibility allows you to deploy the same hardware across different sites regardless of the local grid infrastructure.
Does the EVM007 support “Plug & Charge” to simplify the user experience?
Absolutely. The EVM007 floor-mounted AC EV charger supports the ISO 15118 (P&C EIM) standard. This allows authorized vehicles to start charging and handle billing automatically upon connection, eliminating the need for RFID cards or mobile apps for a seamless user experience.
What is the benefit of having both OCPP 1.6J and OCPP 2.0.1 support?
It ensures your investment is future-proof. OCPP 1.6J is the current industry standard for backend connectivity. However, OCPP 2.0.1 offers enhanced cybersecurity, improved device management, and advanced smart charging capabilities required for the next generation of EV networks.
Can I legally charge my tenants or customers for the electricity they use?
Yes. The EVM007 floor-mounted AC EV charger offers an optional MID-certified energy meter. In many regions (especially Europe), an MID meter is a legal requirement for the resale of energy, ensuring that every kWh is measured with high precision for compliant billing.
What payment methods can I offer to my customers?
The system supports multi-layer authentication, including RFID cards (ISO 14443 A/B, Mifare), QR codes, and even an optional POS machine for direct credit card payments. This makes it suitable for both private employee use and public commercial operations.
How do we manage firmware updates if we have dozens of units across the city?
The EVM007 features a 7-inch touchscreen that is OTA-upgradable (Over-the-Air). You can push firmware updates and diagnostic commands remotely via Ethernet, 4G LTE, or Wi-Fi (2.5G & 5GHz), significantly reducing the need for on-site maintenance visits.
Is the hardware durable enough for outdoor public parking?
Yes, the EVM007 is constructed with a robust steel enclosure. It also features ambient lighting at the gun socket and pole top to enhance visibility and ease of use at night, while ensuring the equipment remains visible to prevent accidental vehicle collisions.
